We, at the South Jersey Jazz Society, are happy to announce and accept applications for our 2026 scholarship from June 1, 2026 through September 30, 2026.
The 2026 Bob & Susan Simon scholarship award will be presented to the most qualified student demonstrating his/her work as a promising jazz instrumentalist or vocalist.
This award is available to middle and high school students in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Salem and Ocean counties.
To submit an application please send the following:
- A personal letter from the student explaining his/her reason for applying, which should include intention of the scholarship’s purpose/use.
- A recommendation letter from the school’s band director.
- A qualified sample of the student’s musical/jazz talent and ability in either a CD, mp3, or mp4 format.
The winner will be matched with a jazz musician and educator who meets the musical needs of the student winner. This will be organized and coordinated by Dr. Michael Pedicin.
