Charlie Apicella & Iron City ft. Steve Johns

Part two in our spring series. On May 8 the focus will switch to the blues roots of jazz with Charlie Apicella & Iron City featuring Brad Whiteley on organ, Steve Johns on drums and Charlie Apicella on guitar.  Charlie studied composition and improvisation with musical titans Yusef Lateef and Pat Martino and was trained as a historian by Archie Shepp and Dr. Billy Taylor.

This will be Charlie’s first visit to SJJS since his appearance at the Pat Martino Celebration of Life festival in November, 2022.

This event will also be held at Gregory’s, 900 Shore Road, Somers Point.
