Madame Pat Tandy – Summer Jazz Series

Madame Pat TandyInternational Jazz, Blues, R&B Recording Artist, influenced by the music of the Baptist Church, Pat began singing in gospel groups and school choirs. She studied music theory and jazz with former Ellington Bassist/Pianist, Music Director/Professor Dr. Aaron Bell at Essex County College in Newark where she earned an Associate in Arts & Science degree in Music Education.

Pat is a native of Newark, NJ and has been singing professionally since the 1970s including a long stint with the popular R&B recording group “The Pretender” who had several minor hits on Carnival Records.

Pat has performed off-Broadway musicals in “Good Time Blues” and “Billie,” and portrayed Queen Evilleen in the musical “Wiz” at NJPAC in Newark, NJ.

Madame Pat toured abroad and performed in Japan, Italy, Switzerland, and in Russia with the Harlem Jazz/Blues Band.

Pat’s last CD recording in 2009 is a tribute to the late Irene Reid entitled, “Madame Pat Tandy remembers Irene Reid” on BlueArk Records. One of her featured signature songs is “Big Fat Daddy” that everyone loves and requests the most.

In May 2017, Madame Pat and her colleagues completed a new CD entitled “Back It Up, Action Speaks Louder Than Words.”

Pat performs throughout New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania with her long-term musicians…organists/pianists Dan Kostelnik, Radam Schwartz, saxophonist Tommy Grice, drummer Gordon Lane, and with countless other outstanding musicians and big bands.

Pat also performed on several cruise ships including the Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Carnival Cruiselines travelling to all the southern Caribbean islands for eleven years.

Madame Pat Tandy is a natural born dynamic singer/performer not to be missed.
