The Peabody Improvisation and Multimedia Ensemble is a premier performance group of the Peabody Institute’s Jazz Studies Department. Currently under the direction of Gary Thomas and Alexander Norris, PIME was founded in spring 2006 and became an officially recognized large ensemble in fall 2007. Originally formed by 10 members who met weekly on a voluntary basis, the group focused upon the presentation of both new and lesser performed works. Additionally, the group frequently incorporates orchestral instruments as well as electronic music. Members are encouraged to actively participate in music composition and arranging. Performance credits include the Jewish Community Center in Owings Mills, the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center, and the 10th Anniversary Concert of the Jazz Studies Department.

Admission is free to the general public. DONATIONS ACCEPTED AND APPRECIATED!
